It's the 14th ASEAN University Games (AUG 2008) and this time Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) has been selected to be the host. It started since 10th December 2008 and today is the last day of competition. Tomorrow is gonna be the closing day.
Anyway, I went to watch the final football game between Malaysia and Thailand today. During the first half, Thailand managed to get the first goal about 10 minutes after the game started. Even they had lost to Malaysia (0-1) during the preliminary round, but it seemed like Malaysia was playing too slow and play safe. Thai had higher percentage of ball possession most of the time. It was full of "Oohh", "Aahhhhh", "Alamak" and "Oi" and "Uishhh". Seriously, it was a heart thumping game!
After a 15 minutes break, Malaysian team still trying to score a goal, but it's not a fruitfull one. Haih..I feel like wanna go in and play je..but of course, I don't even know how to kick a ball, that make me the last to go in. =D
Then, when it's about to finish, one incident had happened. When one of Malaysian player try to challenge the ball, the opponent got pissed off. And believe me, the angry Thai keep his knee high up, and landed his boot on the Malaysian thigh. For FEW TIMES!! He kicked the naive Malaysian footballer. And..and..and..to make it worst, the Thai sub ran in and kicked the poor Malaysian too. All of us was stunned! and shocked! Then things became uncontrolled. The mad spectator started to throw their water bottles and shouting and cursing too.
That was sooo UN-professional! They were leading by one goal. And they were actually winning dah pun.. It was like 5 minutes left till the ref blow the whistle pun.. And why the hell he acted so stupid like that? I was so pissed too. He may kill or broke the victim's leg too! Daymn, I wonder what was he thinking.. The ref just gave him a RED card. But, can it cover the pain of the leg? My heart feel like being sliced and I could feel the pain too~ hehe. *drama*
But it's true. This was suppose to be a fair play. And through sport, it should help us building a better spirit, better attitude in oneself..
*sigh* Looking from the bright side, even though Malaysian just managed to get a Silver for football, to me deep in my heart Malaysia is still a CHAMP who play with full hearted, high spirited and show their greatest commitment and effort to win the game (even they were actually playing so lame, weak, and I can't actually notice their "secret" strategy to win).
Above all, Malaysia is still the hero..
