Kiwanis Food Festival 2008

Last Sunday we went to KIWANIS FOOD & FUNFAIR FOR D0WN SYNDROME, as a volunteer~ This festivals has been held at its premises at Taman SEA in Petaling Jaya and been organised by the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation-National Centre, basically for charity. I mean to collect some donations to maintain their operations and at the same time to introduce this foundation to the community.

This is my first time being a volunteer and lucky enough to join this annually event. Well, thanks to Che Tene to invite us to join her.

Apparently, all we hafta do is to help them with the booth and of course, collect some donations la kan. So, they have two types of booth, one to serve or sell the food and the other one is the game booth. No money but coupon is used to buy food and play games there. With the theme Down by The Station, I can say that they have successfully attract many people to come and join. It's a lesson learned for a beginner like me. Nothing much to say as I really enjoy myself being a volunteer even I cabot awal. =D. So here are some piccas of the moments~

:The Tene's Group --> me, dear, a'a, fuzzy n tene (Ketua Kumpulan woo) :

: Some of the games WE enjoyed --> sambil-sambil kumpul token! :

: Some of the food stalls.. banyak gile makanan..macamana nafsu makan tak membuak? :

: Hensem uols bebudak neyh..tak tahan mak nengok~ Dorang ni pandai woo :

: Introducing.... the Tene's Group in action :

I hafta use collage just to share the hundreds of pictures taken during the event. In Tene's Group there are me and A'a, selaku penjual buah, Fuzzy si Penjual Nasi Lemak yang berjaya *nuk, mesti ko hilang suara kan..setelah terpaksa menjerit jual nasi lemak bagai..*, dear selaku fotografer jer *sebab dia kata "Gerai capati I tu dah ramai orang jaga..I volunteer jadik fotografer je la eh..." Thanks to you sebab banyak snap gambar I. eheh~* and Tene selaku Ketua Kumpulan yang menjual Corn cup.

Bila dah penat buat keje *er..about 3 to 4 hours..*, kitorang pon memulakan aktiviti jalan-jalan sambil main game and kumpul token. Dear manage to get er..4 ke 6 tokens, me 1 token only *jadi la kan..* and a'a 3 token. I'm not pretty sure but the total of tokens are 9 je. Using the 9 tokens, I managed to get myself a REALLY NICE purple frame with a word COURAGES, and a novel (RM5 je) using my RM5 kupon untuk makan. Since the I got the kupon makan for free, so I consider myself getting the Judith McNaught novel for free la kan. eheh~

: A free novel, a RM8 frame and a free cleansing soap. LoL :

: I made myself go up on the stage to try the bamboo dance.
It's tougher than you look man.. YOU BET! :

I guess my first experience as a volunteer worth every smiles from the kids.. It's just so wonderful to have a feeling of making people smile and laugh. I wanna do this again! Yay~

Feeling Tense? Let's Sssssssssssssushi~

Last Tuesday *it's not THAT late to share kan..eheh* I was really craving for banana split. The mood swings had affected me pretty badly and I had this thought about having some ice-cream, with banana and wafer, garnished with some strawberry or cherry and..and..and..the choc syrup..ouh..I'm drooling now just to imagine and can't help to write more.. =)

So there I go..started to menyendeng-nyendeng dengan Dihar to ask her out with me after work.. and it went like "Er..Diha~ kat Alamanda tu kan, erm..kat mana ada serve banana split eh? I've been thinking to have some la..kat Secret Recipe ada tak.." Padahal gue udah tau, kalau kat Alamanda tu dah sah-sah Baskin Robin ada, tapi sajor jer nak mengayat~ *I'm pretty good in doing that SOMETIMES~* And guess what, in return she said "Er..tak sure aaa..jum sushi?" Makcik ni pown sebenarnyeh ada hidden agenda..eheh. Luckily I had dat in mind too, as a second choice of course.

So finally, we went to Alamanda to have our regular mind-clearing+self-soothing+office-gossip session eh, dinner at Sushi King. The place where we always go to enjoy the great time, forget about how "good mood" the boss had that day, forget about the bad things happen and continue to laugh..and laugh..and laugh.. Trying to "straighten the bad hair". LoL

Basically, Sushi King is the place we go to enjoy some free hot green tea and cute rolled piece of "happy food". As we got there...we hafta wait to get in!

: For the first time since we became the regular customer, we hafta queue to be in! :

It's because apparently Sushi King is having a promotion. Sushi yang dihidangkan on the conveyer belt berharga RM2 *for those who have the member card only*. You can save up to RM4 per plate! What dyu expect lah kan.. Haruslah seantero Kajang, and Bangi pon datang makan kat Alamanda *store yang selalu tak ramai orang sangat* And we didnt know about that crazy promotion! *Hello..we're the REGULAR customer but we didnt notice that..apekah itew?* But, we still maintain...

: Sushi punye pasal kan.. :

After a few minutes of standing, we managed to get in and enjoy the food. Thanks to the manager who let us in sebab kitorang 2 orang je..yang lain tu datang by group. And there was a place by the conveyer belt tu, just nice for 2. Sian orang laen who'd been queued for like 15 minutes? *Moral: sila pegi 2 3 orang je kalau nak senang dapat seat di tempat-tempat makan yang ada sign "Please wait to be seated"*.

Hurm.. FYI, the promotion was actually started since 13 October until 16 October. Luckily we stil have a chance to enjoy the food during the 3rd day of promotion, which was the second last day actually. Guess what, we went there AGAIN on Thursday (which was the last day of the offer)!. During the first visit, it took us about one and a half hour to get out from the store. Sampai manager tu kata "Cik, nak tunggu apa-apa lagi ke?" me and Dihar was like "Ah? er...tak..tak..kitorang nak bayar dah ni.." sambil tertinjau-tinjau kat luar..muka sorang-sorang kat luar yang tengah tunggu tu dah jadi macam apa jer..masing-masing mesti menyumpah kitorang..ahaha. What? Keji ke? Tak laa...We should appreciate every minute we have tau..lama tunggu nak masuk kan..Selalunya, the shortest time we spend during eating sushi was like er... 2 hours? So, setakat satu jam setengah tu...ok laa kan..

Here's some suwit memories I shared with my girlfren a.k.a. sushi-mate a.k.a. my best friend~

: Menu on the first day.. :

: The Second Day..Did you notice the Golden Ball? I had those delicious food on both days.. And it took me sekali eh, 2 kali ngap to finish one ball!! :

: Some of our plates~ SOME okeh.. :

: Well...SOME of our plates been taken er...10 or 11 of them? :

: On the second visit. Muka masing-masing dah kenyang.. SERIOUS mengantuk~ :

: Ta ta da.....Kakak baek yang gelakkan kitorang sebab makan tak hengat and she was like
"Eh, korang datang lagik?" :

Er..Sekian untuk waktu ini. =D. Next time I'll tell you why we choose sushi instead of other foods in Malaysia and also the benefits of sushi and green tea. Till then, have a wonderful sushi day!!!

pssst...Dihar, can't forget the moment aku nak bayar tu..heuheuheuhue~ Sungguh memalukan~

Spider-woman, anyone??

I've seen one! Believe me. But she's not wearing a suite or costume like Spiderman! But this girl is cute. Well..yeah, she's just WAY too young to serve nation and safe people like Spiderman does. But with her spirit she shows, I'd rather say, "Urm.....boley laaa". Wanna know who she is?

. . . .

Well... Ta-ta-daaaaaaaaaa~

My Amanda (a.k.a Dada), My niece, My heart, My love. These piccas are taken in the car during Jalan-Jalan-Raya-Sambil-Kutip-Duit-Raya dari Pokok Sena nak balik Aloq Staq. She's just bored while we were stucked in a massive traffic jam. She took out her diaper from the bag and trying to be creative with it, to kill time. She was like "Dada nak do ni..Iyah..Iyah..Iyah.." Trying to fit that diaper on the head
Haih..Aunty mu ini masih sempat amek gambar..Eheh. Ain't she cute.....

Dilbert Made My Day!

When I woke up this morning, it’s already 7. Man..I feel a lil bit dizzy since I slept at 1am last night. Later than usual.

It’s the beginning of a new day, a whole new day. Feel so..difficult to get up from the bed. And I feel so not going to work. *sigh* Wish I could get a leave for today. (sounds not like me. AT ALL). I used to be energetic, highly motivated and so eager to do stuff at work. Trying hard to finish my tasks before the boss could have asked for it. But now? It took me almost an hour just to write a letter..*sigh again*

* sooooooooooooooooooooooooo not motivated *

So I start digging for something..something to start my day with..something to cheer me up..something to motivate me…a lil’ precious something…

Then I found this:

Past is experience, present is experiment and future is expectation. Use your EXPERIENCE in your EXPERIMENT to achieve EXPECTATION.

Troubles are like washing machine. They twist, turn and knock us around, but in the end we come out brighter than before.

It’s just the matter of how we use our experience in this “washing machine” experiment for a better expectation.

AND THIS!!! The quotes from DILBERT. So Encouraging~

1. Tell me what you need, and I'll tell you how to get along without it.

2. Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.

3. Needing someone is like needing a parachute. If he isn't there the first time, chances are you won't be needing him again.

5. On the keyboard of life, always keep one finger on the escape key.

6. I don't suffer from stress. I am a carrier.

7. You are slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter.

8. Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

9. Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.

10. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience.

11. A pat on the back is only a few inches from a kick in the butt.

12. Don't be irreplaceable. If you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted.

13. After any salary raise, you will have less money at the end of the month than you did before.

14. The more crap you put up with, the more crap you are going to get.

15. You can go anywhere you want if you look serious and carry a clipboard.

16. If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would get done.

17. When you don't know what to do, walk fast and look worried.

18. Following the rules will not get the job done.

19. When confronted by a difficult problem, you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question, "How would the Lone Ranger handle this?"

20. There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

21. Bring ideas in and entertain them royally, for one of them may be the king.

22. If at first you don't succeed......skydiving isn't for you.

23. Life is a waste of time; time is a waste of life, so get wasted all of the time and have the time of your life.

24. When everything is coming your're in the wrong lane.

Ah well...after having getting all the quotes, I feel better now. And I like the one at #4, #9 and # 12. So, tell me which one you like and leave some quotes if you have any~

Nowadays blog is like a multi functional stuff which people can use as a platform to gain some extra money, besides being used as a personal diaries. And how do they get some money just with a few clicks on the net? Well basically there are a lot of ways, which I have already explained some here.

Choosing to put advertisements might be a good choice. There are a lot of choices like using advertlets, adsense, nuffnang and lot more.

But, after doing some reading, I thought Nuffnang would be the perfect choice so far. The "seed" is growing. Apparently Nuffnang is the pioneer blog advertising community and IT'S THE FIRST IN ASIA. They started their based in Malaysia, then move to Singapore and only recently they've spread their wings to Philippines. After years of hard work, now they have started to serve ads for some huge companies like Nike, AirAsia, Honda and lots more.

I guess that's a good introduction about Nuffnang. For more information you can visit their website and dig more. May be you can become one of the Nuffnanger and start getting paid while you sleep..Who knows..May be~
